This exciting new piece of work will be focused on a final evaluation of the 3-year project, ‘Empowering Older People in Poorer Areas of Khartoum, Sudan’. The primary purpose of the evaluation is to assess the impact of the project and the level of achievement of the project’s objectives and results. A secondary purpose would be to identify any emerging good practices or approaches and lessons learnt in the project that can be documented and showcased for possible replication and up-scaling in Sudan and other programmes.
The ideal candidate should have proven experience in conducting evaluations in complex political contexts and excellent knowledge and skills on issues of international development in relation to Africa. Also, proven experience in participatory reviews and research, and capacity assessments is essential.
The application pack must consist of the following documents: - A cover letter explaining competences to meet the requirements of the assignment - A CV of the lead consultant - A document explaining in detail the methodology to be used in carrying out the assignment. You must also provide a detailed budget in USD (Indicate daily rates) excluding cost of flights and accommodation which will be provided by HelpAge International. Also you must provide the timeline for the assignment and when ready to undertake the assignment. - Provide two evaluation reports of similar work undertaken in the recent past (Not more than 2 years)
