The African Peacebuilding Network (APN), a program of the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) was launched in March 2012. Its objective is to support independent African research on conflict-affected countries and neighboring regions of the continent. It also aims to integrate African knowledge into global policy communities.
In this regard, the APN will provide support for, and cooperate with the ALC as a regional hub for its research and networking activities. The hub will anchor APN activities in Africa, focusing on research, methodological, networking and dissemination priorities. It will also host APN activities and strengthen connections among scholarly and practitioner communities in Africa. The ALC will work in partnership with the APN in facilitating networking between researchers, practitioners, analysts and policymakers operating at national, regional and international levels, organizing and documenting knowledge production on African peacebuilding.
To advance the work of the hub, the ALC seeks to recruit an APN Research and Communications Officer to be based in Nairobi, Kenya. The ALC is an equal opportunities employer. The APN Research and Communications Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the APN Hub.
