SPARK is achieving its mission by organizing business plan competitions, business skills training, SME coaching & mentoring, business incubation, SME financing, intensive higher vocational summer courses, curriculum development and quality assurance at universities and higher vocational education institutions.

SPARK is involved in the tender process for the South Sudan Agribusiness Development Programme (SSADP). For this programme SPARK is looking for a

Business Support Service expert

F / M, full time

under condition that funds for this program will become available

Main tasks and Responsibilities: The Business Support Service expert: - is responsible for the development of Business Support Services (BSS) for agri business SMEs, including the BSS method and the training/coaching of BSS advisors. - will adjust the (existing) BSS methods and manuals to local conditions - will provide training for South Sudanese entrepreneurs - will train and coach BSS advisors - will train and coach banks in agribusiness financing. - will guide short term specialists when opportune. The Business Support Service expert will take the lead in practical work (e.g. coaching BSS advisors, training entrepreneurs, travelling to the far corners of the Republic).

Requirements and Skills: - BSc or BA in economics, finance, management or closely related fields. - Has practical experience in agriculture and agri-business at farm or company level, as substantiated by work experience - Strong writing and reporting skills, including command of the English language - Preferable masters a local (South Sudanese) language, preferable Arabic - Good communication and social skills - Experienced in training and facilitation of group processes - At least 3 years of experience in small business development, including in an environment that is comparable to South Sudan (similar social-economics challenges) as evidenced by project references. - RSS national have a preference and the expert will be based in RSS. - Available for a 4 year contract
