REGIONAL ECONOMIC INTERGRATION SUPPORT PROGRAMME
Background
The proposed Regional Economic Integration Support (REIS) programme will assist with the implementation of various aspects of SADC's overall regional economic integration strategy which involves moving towards a Common Market with integrated rules and standards, free movement of production factors, labour, capital, goods and services, and competition.
The Overall Objective of the Programme is to promote economic growth and poverty reduction in the SADC Region. This objective corresponds to the general objective of the RISDP and the various Protocols that constitute the basis of SADC's regional integration Agenda. The Specific Objective of the Programme, is to create the enabling environment through the SADC Secretariat to enhance the movement of goods and services within SADC, facilitate investment, and secure WTO compatible market access arrangements between SADC EPA countries and the EU. The key result areas of the programme are the following:
Result 1: Support provided to the implementation of the Finance and Investment Protocol
Result 2: Support provided to the implementation of the regional trade agenda
Result 3: Support provided to the negotiation and implementation of the SADC EPA
It is expected that implementation activities under this programme will commence in the first half of 2013.
It is following this background that SADC Secretariat in the implementation of the REIS Project wishes to invite suitably qualified, experienced citizens of SADC to apply for the following positions tenable at its Head quarters in Gaborone, Botswana:

Tenure of Appointment:
All the positions are on fixed term contract from January 2013 up to 31st December, 2015.

The SADC Secretariat offers competitive package for all the positions as detailed below;
