An existing strong teaching and research team in Mechanics is expanding due to growing undergraduate and graduate student numbers in Civil Engineering. A candidate, who wants to follow a career in this field of mechanics, is required. Career development depends on the candidate’s academic achievements in teaching, development of a national and international research profile and community service.
Duties:
• Under and postgraduate teaching and curriculum development in Statics and Mechanics;
• postgraduate study guidance and research in Mechanics;
• academic and departmental administration.

Requirements:
• MSc in Civil Engineering with a focus on Mechanics and Construction Materials;
• a minimum of 1 year’s academic experience in teaching and research assistance;
• the intention and willingness to enrol for a PhD in Mechanics;
• fluency in both Afrikaans and English or in the case of persons not fluent in Afrikaans, willingness to learn the language within an agreed period of time.
