We are seeking a pioneering and motivational leader to join our Afghanistan programme (Marie Stopes International Afghanistan) based in Kabul in the role of Deputy Country Director on a fixed term two year contract. In the second year the successful candidate would be expected to cover the Country Director who will be taking a sabbatical.
Established in 2002, MSIA works across 14 centres in central, southwest and northern Afghanistan and in 2011 provided much needed services to more than 169,000 couples and averted approximately 8,000 unsafe abortions.
Working within a highly motivated team and reporting into the Country Director, you will work on innovative and complex activities in line with the MSIA strategic goals and operationally direct the regional clinics on improvements and support in any business development opportunities.
In order to be successful in this role, you will be a strong strategic thinker with the ability to delegate to and motivate senior leaders in country to deliver on quality and results as well as be able to draw on your previous experience of communicating effectively with external parties, such as donors. Proven experience of leading a team is essential as is experience of working cross culturally.
