CORAR Assurances Générales Limited « CORAR A.G. Ltd » would like to recruit competent and qualified staff for different positions as per terms of reference below.
Position of Technical Director
Duties and responsibilities
- Under supervision of the Managing Director of CORAR AG ltd, to carry out the product development of general insurance;
- Setting and formulation of objectives and programs of the Technical Department;
- Make proposal of new products and oversee their introduction to the market;
- To supervise the underwriting process;
- Support the Commercial Department in setting up and training of sales agents and other commercial partners;
- To analyze customer business needs, design offers related to and participate in major non life insurance contracts negotiations, on the behalf of the company;
- To collaborate and discuss with actuaries or any other technical expert in non life insurance dealing with CORAR AG Ltd;
- To analyze the insurance portfolio of the company and propose an adequate reinsurance treaty cover and follow up its implementation;
- To follow up reinsurance claims until recovery;
- Coordinate all technical elements between underwriting and claims divisions;
- Manage and carry out risk assessment in the underwriting process;
- Prepare regular reports on the activities of its department as requested by the Regulator,
- Ensuring that the underwritten risks which are beyond the underwriting reinsurance capacity are announced and placed to Reinsures in their pricing and Facultative coverage;
- Ensuring the updating of tariffs (rates) for different products;
- Manage the technical aspects of the company: technical reserves, reinsurance and statistics;
- Evaluate the performance of subordinates;
- Perform any other task that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Job profile
- Have a Master´s degree in insurance with a minimum professional experience of 2 years or Have a Bachelor´s degree in Management, Finance, Economics, Law, Development studies, Statistics or similar disciplines with a minimum experience of 5 years in the field of insurance and possess professional certificates issued by accredited institution like ACII, CII and/or have advanced trainings within the insurance field;
- Have at least 5 years of practical experience within the Insurance Underwriting, Claims Management and reinsurance management;
- Ability to negotiate the balanced reinsurance treaties;
- Awareness and good understanding of the laws and regulation of Non Banking Financial Institutions;
- Have the organizational, managerial and communications skills;
- To be a good team player;
- To be endowed with ethics and integrity;
- To be flexible and motivated;
- To be conversant with computer tools especially with MS Word and Excel;
- To be Fluent in English and/or French; the mastering of the two as work languages would be an asset;
- Present three referees and their addresses;
- To be ready to start the work immediately once recruited.
Position of Chief Accountant
Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare the periodical financial statements;
- Keep the accounting books according to the governing rules and regulations;
- Conduct the bank accounts reconciliation on regular basis;
- Verify the suppliers´ invoices and propose their payment mode by preparing the fund request for check or payment notes by the treasury officer or cashier;
- Verify the accuracy of the Company\\\'s accounts debit and credit operations;
- Collaborate with the underwriting and claims divisions in the computation of technical provisions and contingency reserves;
- Supervise and coordinate the accounting staff;
- Verify and control the data entry operations;
- Ensure the role of the focal point of institutions in charge of social security and taxes;
- Evaluate the performance of subordinates;
- Perform any other task that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Job Profile
- Have a bachelor´s degree in Accounting with a minimum 5 year work experience within accounting field of a financial institution;
- To be a member of a professional accounting board recognized by IFAC;
- Have an accounting professional certificate ACCA/CPA with a minimum 3 year work experience within the accounting field;
- Have a minimum 5 year accounting experience within Non Banking Financial Institutions;
- To be conversant with at least one or two accounting software’s commonly used in insurance businesses;
- To be conversant with commonly used computer tools like MS Word and Excel;
- Easy writing and speaking of French and English;
- The mastering of these two languages being an asset;
- To be ready to start the work immediately once recruited.
Position of Risk Manager
Duties and responsibilities
- Risk manager advises organizations on any potential risks to the profitability or existence of the company;
- Identifies and assess threats, put plans in place for if things go wrong and decide how to avoid, reduce or transfer risks;
- Manage the risk to the organization with its employees, customers, assets and interest of stakeholders;
- Planning, designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the a organization;
- Risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organization such as costs, legal requirements and environmental factors, and evaluating the organization’s previous handling of risks;
- To prepare periodic report of the most significant risks assessed to the Board of Directors, General directorate, Departments and Services;
- Conducting audits of policy and procedures and ensure their compliance to the national and international standards;
- Providing support, education and training to staff under his/her supervision to build risk awareness within the organization;
- Evaluate the performance of subordinates;
- Perform any other task that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Job profile

Position of Chief Budget and treasury Duties and responsibilities
- Under supervision of Administration and Finance Director, prepare the budget collection forms, centralize the information and prepare the draft budget and the plan of action for the management;
- Conduct the regular petty cash and bank inflows and outflows control, and provide the treasury position on daily basis;
- Conduct the regular budget based expenditure level follow-up;
- Ensure sufficient liquidity on CORAR AG LTD accounts and inform the management in case of scarce or excess liquidity to make necessary action;
- Coordinating all payments operations;
- Prepare and monitor budget and coordinate data collection for cost and income analysis of the budget;
- Consult with and advise management on current fiscal-operations and long-range financial planning (analysis, interpretation & forecasting);
- Evaluate the performance of subordinates;
- Perform any other task that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Job profile
- Holding a Bachelors degree of Management, Accounting, Finance or Economics. Holding a professional certificate of ACCA or CPA will be an added advantage;
- Having a minimum 3 years experience to the similar position;
- Being familiar with laws and regulations governing financial institutions;
- Possessing organizational, managerial and communication skills;
- Possess irreproachable moral and integrity behavior;
- A self motivated person with integrity and flexibility;
- Strong computer skills (Windows Operation System and MS Office) and Accounting Software package;
- Fluent in English or French.
- Being able to work in any of these two languages. Knowing both languages would be an added advantage.
Position of Automobile Expert
Duties and responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Head of the Claims Department, the Internal Expert examine the cost of repair estimates proposed by the garages by comparing them to actual damages of vehicles damaged by road traffic accidents;
- Establish expertise against the repair estimate by analyzing the figures to determine the actual amount of compensation;
- Proceed with the repair verification in accordance with the agreement of repair before delivery of the invoice to CORAR AG Ltd by the garages;
- Visit regularly various garages where vehicles damaged are being repaired;
- Support Automobile underwriting service in the process of insuring vehicles in the omnium category;
- Ensure a good relationship between CORAR AG Ltd and its partners´ garages;
- Advise CORAR AG Ltd management in as far as maintenance of cars are concerned;
- Perform any other task that may be assigned by the supervisor.
Job profile
- Have at least a high level (D6) in auto mechanics;
- Have at least five (5) years of experience in the field of expertise and automobile damage assessment in a financial institution;
- Have a good character, impeccable integrity and honesty;
- Good knowledge of computer (Windows, Word, Excel, internet etc ....)
- Proficiency in French and a working knowledge of English would be an asset;
- To be immediately available for the job.
