The British Council in Uganda is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the post of a Programme Officer.
Purpose of Job
To administer the direct and indirect delivery of a portfolio of projects, in collaboration with partners, to meet the British Council’s objectives and targets and partner expectations in Uganda.
Context and Environment
The Programme Officer reports to a Programme Manager and is 1 of 6 Programme Officers who work to deliver our portfolio of projects in education, english, society and the arts. Although based in Kampala the British Council works with people across the country.
We aim to increase our impact by securing new business with partners and putting a new focus on marketing and communications.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in delivering projects and contracts using the project cycle of identification and development, implementation and evaluation and reporting
- Demonstrable experience of engagement with different stakeholders including government, civil society, private companies, and international organisations
- Excellent oral communications skills to effectively present information, respond to questions
- Exceptional writing skills to effectively create clear and concise reports and proposal
- Capacity to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Qualification in a related discipline
