The Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) was established under the Public Corporations Act No. 17 of 1969 by a Presidential Order through Government Notice number 115, published on 25th August, 1978. The Centre is wholly owned by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania and operates under the purview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
The AICC was established to manage and control the Headquarters’ complex of the defunct East African Community and all other premises and lands in Arusha which belonged to the defunct East African Community and to provide facilities and services on the complex for purposes of conferences, meetings, seminars etc.
The Centre’s mission is to promote and provide quality business tourism services to national and international clientele for enhanced national social and economic development with the vision of being a model and enabler of business tourism.
The Centre invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill in the below mentioned vacant posts:-
1. Conferences Services Assistant II (2 Posts)
Answerable to Conferences Services Officer
Qualifications
- Holder of Diploma in Business Administration or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
- At least three (3) years working experience in related field
- Must be computer literate
Duties & Responsibilities
- Doing Conference Ushering
- Monitoring service ability of conference facilities
- Supervising movement of furniture for conference rooms
- Compiling Conference statistics and data
2. Pharmaceutical Technician II (1 Post)
Answerable to Pharmacist
Qualifications
- Holders of Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology or its equivalent from a recognized Centre/Institution
- At least three (3) years working experience in related field
- Must be computer literate
Duties & Responsibilities
- To undertake Pharmaceutical Production i.e. compounding/manufacture under supervision of senior staff
- Dispensing medicines to patients
- Educating patients on rational use of drugs
3. Assistant Nursing Officer II (4 Posts)
Answerable to Patron
Qualifications
- Diploma in Nursing from a recognised Centre/Institution must be registered with Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Holders of National Form Four Examination Certificate
- At least three (3) years working experience in related field
- Must be computer literate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Nursing care of patients
- Administration of medicines and treatment of patients as prescribed by medical practitioners
- To understand and solve problems of patients in line with nursing ethics and general nursing services
4. Radiographer II (1 Post)
Answerable to Medical Officer in-charge
Qualifications
- Holders of Diploma in Radiography from a recognized University/Institution.
- At least three (3) years working experience in related field
- Must be computer literate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performing all Radiographic/Radio therapeutic procedures
- Preparing the patient for the procedure
- Preparing the x-ray room and Machine and accessories
- Cleaning and checking the x-ray machine and accessories
- Keeping patients’ property/valuables.
- Maintaining appropriate documentations
- Giving first aid to people in need at the place of work
- Performing any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned by the Medical Officer in-charge.
5. Nurse II (2 Posts)
Answerable to Patron
Qualifications
- Certificate in Nurse Midwife or its equivalent from a recognised Centre/Institution must be registered with Tanzania Nurses and Midwives Council
- Holder of Form Four Certificate
- At least three (3) years working experience in related field
- Must be computer literate.
Duties & Responsibilities
- General Nursing care of patients
- Administration of Injection, ward/unit medication
- To assist Nursing Officers and clinician in running clinics
6. Laundry Attendant (1 Post)
Answerable to Patron
Qualifications
- Certificate in Laundry or housekeeping from a recognized Institution
- Holder of Secondary Education Certificate
- At least three (3) years working experience
- Computer knowledge will be an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleaning of ward linens, curtains, operation theatre linens, patients uniforms etc
- Care and maintenance of laundry equipments and materials
- Collecting soiled linen from various places
- Collection of cleaning materials from stores
- Distributing clean linen to the respective user departments
- Maintaining different types of registers
- Ironing and wrapping all linens
- Keeping records of linens and submitting to patron
7. Receptionist II (1 Post)
Answerable to Human Resources and Administrative Officer
Qualifications
- Holder of Form IV/VI certificate with pass in English and Kiswahili
- Holder of certificate in Front Office Operations from a recognized institution.
- Must be computer literate
- French language will be an added advantage
Duties & Responsibilities
- To operate and maintain switch board
- To monitor ,receive and manage the front desk visitors
- To keep visitors register book
- To receive and channel incoming telephone calls and internal telephone requests;
- To direct office visitors to officers in question
- To keep telephone call register
- To report defective telephone facilities
8. Maintenance Officer I (1 POST)
Answerable to Director Estates and Projects.
Qualifications
- Holder of Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with relevant Registration Board of Tanzania as a Professional
- At least five (5) years working experience in related field
- Must be computer literate
Duties & Responsibilities
- Undertaking maintenance activities at AICC
- Supervising the testing and commissioning of completed works
- Analyzing risks associated with natural disasters including wind, earthquake, fire and floods, and design structures and services to meet appropriate standards
- Ensuring inspections of conferences, offices and houses are done according to the laid down procedures,
- Ensuring that maintenance and repair are done properly and professionally,
- Keeping records for every maintenance and repair works undertaken,
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance reports,
- Proposing rules, regulations and procedures on maintenance activities,
- Investigating and studying technical faults and propose preventive measures.
9. Maintenance Technician – Electrical (1 POST)
Answerable to Maintenance Officer
Qualifications
- Holder of Full Technician Certificate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least three (5) years working experience in related field
- Must be computer literate
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of Centre’s facilities
- Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
- Responsible for 24 hour emergency maintenance services
- Ensuring inspections of conferences, offices and houses are done according to the laid down procedures
- Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned
- Ensure compliance of all work related activities in fair, ethical and consistent manner
- Ensuring that maintenance and repair are done properly and professionally
- Repair and replace worn out or damaged property
- Keeping records for every maintenance and repair works undertaken.
10. Maintenance Technician – Civil (1 POST)
Answerable to Maintenance Officer
Qualifications
- Holder of Full Technician Certificate/Diploma in Civil Engineering or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- At least five (5) years working experience in related field
- Must be computer literate

- Assist in the maintenance and repair of Centre’s facilities

General terms and Conditions
Terms of Employment:
Permanent and pensionable except for the posts of Nurse II, Assistant Nursing Officer II, Laundry Attendant, Receptionist and Conferences Services Assistant which will be on Contractual basis.
Remuneration:
An attractive package commensurate with the qualifications and relevant experience will be availed to the successful candidate.
