Living Water International (LWI) is a global non-governmental organization that exists to demonstrate the love of God by helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water, and to experience “living water“—the gospel of Jesus Christ—which alone satisfies the deepest thirst. Living Water in Africa is providing safe drinking water, Christian Witness sanitation and hygiene education to communities across Africa. A vacancy exists in the Kenya Service Centre (Kenya Office) based in Nairobi.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop the national strategy with annual, quarterly and monthly plans and reports within the National Strategic Framework;
•Ensure implementation of LWI minimum standards and guidelines in the WASH Program Area (WPA);
•Ensure adherence with tools and protocols for concept notes, proposals, designs and M&E systems;
•Review and or coordinate reviews of concept notes, proposals, design documents and reports before their submissions to the Country Office;
•Ensure minimum standards for measurement of project impact and program excellence are followed; •Facilitate programs and projects to undertake community assessments, capacity building programs and follow-up and impact monitoring;
•Implementing M&E training programs for staff that will enhance and develop skills required to perform their jobs in assessment, design, monitoring, reporting and evaluation;
•Develop, produce or source appropriate community training materials or manuals;
•Employ and integrate guidelines and tools for gender, environment, disability and children rights in WASH programming.
•Define characteristics of best practices for the country and building WPA capacity to identify and share best practices;
•Document and share lessons learned and best practices;
•Implement key community capacity building to contribute to water supply, hygiene and sanitation
promotion efforts and Christian witness aimed at transformational development at WPA level;
•Support leadership and management in an effective and innovative manner;
•Develop and implement capacity building strategy on servant leadership for staff and the community;
•Implement LW Kenya Service Centre strategy on Staff Spiritual Nurture, Christian Witness;
•Undertake and promote integration of Kingdom Values in sectorial programming.
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:-
•Degree in one of the following – Water Engineering; Sociology; Public Health; Community Development or a related field;
•At least 3 years field experience managing Monitoring and Evaluation work in an international NGO context, in staff capacity development, development of community capacity and community-based organizations;
•Thorough understanding and experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, including sampling, survey design, data analysis, and application of these methods to project monitoring and evaluation standards in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene;
•Knowledge of development theory, poverty analysis and livelihood security frameworks;
•Fluency in English and Swahili;
•Excellent computer and internet skills, Word, Excel and graphic presentations.
•The position will include travel.
