SunnyMoney currently works in Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania and Zambia, with teams operating in eachcountry, driving forward our ambitious business plan which aims to sell over 300,000 solar lights this year. We plan to scale up beyond these initial four countries in the near future.
The applicant must be a forward thinking, enthusiastic, experienced marketing professional, willing to act on their own initiative and as part a growing team. The successful candidate will be personally committed to our overarching mission, our Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG), which is to eradicate the use of kerosene for lighting from Africa by the end of this decade. We are looking for a dynamic Marketing Manager to work alongside the SunnyMoneyManaging Director in Nairobi. As Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for developing and driving forward the SunnyMoney marketing plan, with a particular focus on Direct Marketing and building the SunnyMoney brand. You will instil a customer focused ethos throughout the business, helping us manage the customer journey and our teams understand current and future customers, measuring the success of different approaches aimed at stimulating demand for and sales of solar lights. You will also spearhead SunnyMoney PR, writing copy, working with teams to develop clear briefs and overseeing thedevelopment and management of the SunnyMoney website.

Job Description – SunnyMoney Marketing Manager

Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Work with teams to develop effective direct marketing campaigns which offer solar lighting solutions to students, teachers and communities, using schools and headmasters as a channel
· Strengthen the SunnyMoney brand as a leading social enterprise selling solar lights in Africa.
· Consolidating and updating SunnyMoney branding into a centralised, accessible, resource used by teams to ensure all teams are consistently on message and on brand
· Build capacity of each team to ensure high levels of customer service and increased understanding of our customer. This will include working alongside our business development team as it develops our CRM system
· Lead the SunnyMoney communications strategy, raising the profile of the business with partners, governments and the customer. This will include handling PR, creating briefs and working together with the SolarAid fundraising and marketing team.
· Work together with teams to increase impact of our work through more effective marketing, overseeing marketing tests which monitor the effectiveness of marketing approaches and help us increase efficiency, impact and sales
· Work together with our suppliers in order to gain marketing support and increase presence of the SunnyMoney brand on products and point of sale materials
· Develop the SunnyMoney website and other web based platforms into helpful, customer focused areas, which provide useful information and create excitement for theSunnyMoney mission, brand and products
· Other duties may be required from time to time, including responsibilities which require work on weekends and holidays
· Serve as a role model at all times, personally embodying the SunnyMoney mission and values for all staff, volunteers and external audiences
