The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a member of a world-wide network of International Agricultural Research Centres.

Staff to be based at IITA - Mikocheni Office, Dar es Salaam
Responsibilities:
To support research on mainly but not limited to cassava and yam breeding
Supervise the design and laying out of field experiments
Supervise routine data collection and entry into spreadsheets
Analyze data recorded in multiple locations across seasons using appropriate statistical software packages, prepare reports and draft manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
Write quartely reports
Supervise research assistants and technicians
Any other research activity as assigned by the supervisor.
Education requirements and experience:
The successful candidates should have
At least a Masters degree in Crop Science with specialization in plant breeding or related field
At least two years of practical experience at any agricultural research, training or extension institution.
General information:
Fluency in English is mandatory. The initial contract for the position is two years: Renewable subject to performance and availability of funds.
