Lumwana Mining Company located in Zambia is wholly owned by Barrick Gold Corporation and operates one of the largest copper mines to be developed globally over the last decade. The mine is seeking a proactive and self-motivated Process Operations Superintendent to be responsible for all aspects of operation of the process plant and associated infrastructure including interfacing with other disciplines for safe and efficient production of copper in concentrate.
The appointee will report to the Process Operations Manager and will be responsible for the following duties and activities:
- Demonstrated knowledge of HSE Systems, supervise compliance and display leadership in driving incident free operations.
- Develop, implement and monitor compliance with operations standards to achieve cost effective and high quality metal recovery
- Review, develop, implement and lead compliance standards necessary for safe and efficient achievement of the budget copper production to the required product quality
- Oversee mentoring / development of all Process staff to international standards of experience, training and performance.
- Demonstrate empathetic leadership qualities and provide sound direction to work teams to achieve desired outcomes
To be considered for the position, the applicant must have the following qualifications, skills and attributes: -
- Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or Trade qualifications
- A minimum of 10 years processing plant experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Supervisory / management experience in a similar role
- Proven track record in the promotion of team orientated work groups & employee career development initiatives.
