The primary goal of the Rwanda Integrated Water Security Program (RIWSP) is to improve the sustainable management of water quantity and quality to positively impact human health (WASH), food security and resilience to climate change for vulnerable rural populations in targeted river catchments in Rwanda. The overall program is rooted on an Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) approach. Multiple Uses Services (MUS) is a user oriented approach to water service delivery focusing on people’s multiple domestic and productive water needs. The MUS approach delivers water for drinking and other domestic uses and for priority productive uses such as small scale irrigated horticulture or livestock enterprises. The goal of the MUS component in the RIWSP Program is to introduce economically, technically and socially viable multiple use water services that enable poor rural households in Rwanda to achieve sustainable improvements in access to water, health and livelihoods,

WATER SUPPLY SPECIALIST (ENGINEER) (1)
Tasks
- Sustainably improved access to water for domestic and productive uses in rural areas by using appropriate and adapted technologies.
- Support Water Governance and strengthen capacities of water user groups and beneficiaries to sustainably manage water supply systems.
- Increase local maintenance and repair capabilities.
- Creation of a supportive environment for MUS learning, replication and scale-up.
Qualification and experience:
- Master's or Bachelor Degree in civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, water and sanitation engineering or related field with respectively at least 5 or 8 years professional experience in water supply projects.
- At least 3 years’ experience with participatory approaches in rural development projects.
- Proven experience in working with and supervising teams.
- Knowledge of groundwater as source for water supply and of drilling technology.
- Working experience with local authorities, communities and others partners including contractors, NGO...
- Working experience in procurement and in contract management.
- Working experience in private sector is a plus.
- Fluent in Kinyarwanda and English and working French.
