Major Responsibilities
- Design and implement the Fistula Management and Prevention program. Work with senior management to develop and maintain a relevant fistula program that seeks to ensure information on fistula/health equity is widely disseminated and that girls and women with fistula are referred to hospitals for treatment and are followed up to ensure successful reintegration in their communities.
- Design and execute program monitoring process, ensuring that all plans of the program are efficiently managed including, review of progress and timely reporting.
- Assist with communication of the information obtained from WD's -initiated efforts on preventing and managing Fistula in Tanzania — to key partners, donors, WD board, policymakers, target communities, professional and lay providers of health care services, other stakeholders, and the general public.
- Pursue opportunities to further the health agenda through a variety of methods such as convening, technical assistance, serving on committees and task forces, etc
- Keep current on health issues of importance to the organization through literature review, contact with social and professional communities, and participating in relevant conferences
- Participate in WD’s efforts to situate fistula in the context of human rights and gender and health equity through research, public education, advocacy, etc
Manage the responsibilities of the Secretariat for the Fistula Steering Committee as long as WD holds that role.
