Overview: The Maternal Health (MH) Specialist will provide technical guidance for developing innovative MH service delivery strategies. Under the guidance of the ESP Advisor, s/he will ensure quality delivery of MH services towards reducing maternal and neonatal mortality. Responsibilities: - Lead the design and implementation of a strategies to enhance the quality of MH service delivery and, in particular: antenatal care, safe delivery and emergency obstetrics care (e.g. post-partum hemorrhage, preeclampsia, etc.), and postnatal care
- Develops, reviews, adopts and disseminates guidelines, standards of practice, protocols and other tools to improve quality in clinical and non-clinical settings
- Participates in development and presentation/publication of technical papers and materials
- Develops, reviews, adapts, and facilitates MH training curricula and materials
- Integrates MH messages into behavior change and community mobilization strategies
Key Qualifications: - Advanced degree in obstetrics and gynecology, or related field
- 5-7 years of professional clinical experience, particularly with NGO and/or GOB clinics
- Expertise in MH services across a continuum of care
- Experience with USAID or other donor programs, particularly in health service delivery
