University Lecturer in Parasite Biology
DEPARTMENT OF ZOOLOGY in association with Christ Church
The Department of Zoology proposes to appoint a University Lecturer in Parasite Biology from 1 October 2012 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful candidate will be offered a Tutorial Fellowship at Christ Church under arrangements described in the further particulars. The combined University and college salary will be on a scale currently from £42,733 p.a.
The successful candidate will have a strong research background in the study of parasites of animals, or the vectors of parasites, and will have a PhD, postdoctoral experience and a proven high quality research record. S/he will be expected to establish and direct a research programme in the field of parasite or vector biology, particularly at the interface with evolution, ecology, development or behaviour. The successful candidate will also have a broad knowledge of animal biology and will be expected to teach undergraduates on the Biological Sciences degree course.
The University Lecturer is expected: to engage in original advanced research; to attract research funding and to publish in international refereed journals; to supervise and examine graduate students; and to teach and examine Biological Sciences undergraduates.
