Overview: The Family Planning (FP) Specialist will provide technical guidance for developing innovative FP service delivery strategies. Under the guidance of the ESP Advisor, s/he will ensure quality delivery of FP services and support increased demand and uptake of services. Responsibilities: - Lead the design and implementation of a strategies to enhance the quality of FP service delivery and, in particular, increase uptake of long-acting and permanent methods (LAPM) and increase healthy timing and spacing of pregnancy (HTSP)
- Develops, reviews, adopts and disseminates guidelines, standards of practice, protocols and other tools to improve quality in clinical and non-clinical settings
- Participates in development and presentation/publication of technical papers and materials
- Develops, reviews, adapts, and facilitates FP training curricula and materials
- Integrates FP messages into behavior change and community mobilization strategies
Key Qualifications: - Advanced clinical or public health degree required, medical degree preferred
- 5-7 years of professional clinical experience, particularly with NGO and/or GOB clinics
- Expertise in family planning services including HTSP and LAPM
- Experience with USAID or other donor programs, particularly in health service delivery
