We are currently looking to recruit a number of Category Analysts to join our Category Analytics team in Rijswijk, Netherlands to support the Floating Production and Storage (FPS) enterprise category. The FPS Category Analyst role is a member of Shell’s Contracting and Procurement (CP) function, driving lower cost of supply through Enterprise Category Management, delivering project contracting solutions, setting global standards, simplifying and automating ways of working, and coordinating key supplier relationships globally.
The position reports to the Manager of Market Intelligence (MI) as a member of the analyst team supporting all of the Enterprise Categories. The main objective for the team is to Support the Enterprise Category Managers meet current and future demand for critical goods and services across Shell global Upstream and Downstream businesses, leveraging volume spend and creating value for Shell. The Analyst performs market analysis, develops sophisticated cost models, and supports the category strategy development and execution. This role also encompasses evaluating and selecting suppliers as well as contract execution and management. As a significant number of key stakeholders for The Floating production and Storage (FPS) category reside within technical disciplines, the FPS Category Analyst role requires a combination of both technical and commercial competencies.

The FPS Category Analyst role is a global role providing CP support for material upstream projects that have a significant value impact to Shell by working closely with Enterprise Category Manager for FPS as well as interfacing with a multitude of internal stakeholders from a variety of business and technical disciplines The Analyst will als work across the category analyst community and market intelligence team to leverage knowledge and best practices. Specific responsibilities include:
· Understand current and future business demand through stakeholder engagement with the business, regular meetings and effective communication with the CP network and/or project teams, and analysis of spend data through available management information tools.
· Deliver Market Intelligence by creating detailed supply market analysis reports covering industry trends, historical and future market forces, and market assessments on the supplier landscape.
· Develop and maintain total cost of ownership cost models.
· Support the development of the category strategy and provide strategic advice to project teams. Assist in the development of supplier selection criteria for each category.
· Support the Category Managers in strategy implementation and internal stakeholder management. Participate in the development of Sourcing Strategies; understand low cost country sourcing opportunities.
· Support the Category Teams in Framework Agreement preparation and implementation
· Participate in preparing for tendering process by designing and establishing through sourcing tools. Support the category team by mastering available IT platforms and tools
· Develop and maintain market pricing knowledge and benchmarks; track supplier’s activity (i.e. order backlog for suppliers) and identify commercial opportunities. Implement standardized process to obtain internal pricing data and track data against market trends.
· Develop performance metrics for a category in conjunction with the business/users, support the business in evaluating supplier performance against performance metrics, and monitor category contracts performance and commercial opportunities
Requirements:
MBA or graduate in commercial or with mathematical bias.
