CAFOD, one of the UK's major aid agencies is currently seeking a Policy Analyst (Economic Justice).
The concurrent crises of climate change, long-term dwindling natural resources and global economic recession brings a real opportunity to reassess the contribution of the economy to poverty eradication, sustainable development and human flourishing. A new paradigm of the green economy is the main policy solution currently on the table. But what does this mean for developing countries? Will it reduce poverty and serve the interests of the poorest people?
We are recruiting a Policy Analyst with a background in poverty, environment and economics to lead an essential element of our Economic Justice Advocacy Strategy. Working as part of the Economic Justice cluster in the Policy Team, you will take responsibility for research and lobbying of our green economy work and contribute to the successful delivery of the overall strategy.
We are looking for a candidate who has good analytical and critical thinking skills, strong writing and speaking abilities, experience of influencing decision-makers and can work collaboratively with other advocacy and international staff. Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese as well as experience of working with grassroots NGOs would be a significant advantage.
